Toronto, ON - November 24, 2020 - The CVCA is pleased to announce the Invest Canada ‘21 conference, originally scheduled to take place in-person in Montreal, will be conducted as a coast-to-coast virtual experience on June 8 and 9, 2021.

Invest Canada in its traditional face-to-face format attracts more than 600 private capital investment professionals from across Canada and all over the world. The conference provides an exclusive opportunity to connect and collaborate with industry leaders in private equity and venture capital.

Invest Canada ’21 will bring Canada’s diverse regions into the limelight and showcase their successes and their unique opportunities. Plus, the event will connect the private investment community across the country facilitating dynamic and innovative discussions to propel the industry forward.

“The safety of our staff, partners, and Invest Canada attendees was the most important factor in the decision to again go fully virtual,” said Kim Furlong, CEO, Canadian Venture Capital, and Private Equity Association. “We are taking the feedback and our experience from #IC20 and intend to push the envelope in terms of online experiences for 2021. We’re thrilled to be able to safely spotlight the great regional investment stories at this one national event.”

The CVCA is also very excited to announce our 2021 conference co-chairs. Senia Rapisarda, Managing Director, HarbourVest Canada, and Daniel Hinse, Vice President, Investments, Fonds de solidarité FTQ have taken the reins for the upcoming annual event.

“While we are disappointed that we will not be able to meet in person because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we still have a great program planned, with the usual quality of content that attendees have come to expect. We’ll still be coming together once again to share ideas, learn and celebrate,” said Hinse.

“Private capital will play a key role in the months and years ahead, as work is done to keep the Canadian and global economy moving. By expanding Invest Canada in 2021, we have the added benefit of reaching more people than ever before to mobilize innovative solutions to these challenges,” said Rapisarda.
