CVCA Welcomes Its New Board of Directors

Hans Knapp, Partner, Yaletown Partners begins two-year term as Chair of the association

Toronto, ON - September 28, 2021 - Hans Knapp, Partner, Yaletown Partners, officially took the helm as Chair of the organization at CVCA’s Annual General Meeting in June and welcomes nine new appointments.

CVCA welcomes nine new elected members: Stephen Denton, Seafort Capital; Randy Garg, Vistara Capital Partners; Brenda Hogan, Ontario Capital Growth Corporation; Michelle McBane, StandUp Ventures; Sean O'Connor, Conexus Venture Capital; Erson Olivan, Brookfield Asset Management; Maria Pacella, PenderFund Capital Management; David Unsworth, Information Venture Partners; Margaret Wu, Georgian.

“This year’s appointments reflect CVCA’s efforts to bring together diverse and collaborative minds from across the venture capital and private equity industry in Canada,” said Knapp. “I am honoured to serve alongside them on CVCA’s Board of Directors.”

Four of the newly appointed directors are women, reflecting the organization's commitment to improve diversity and inclusion within the Canadian private capital industry and promote gender equity within Canadian private capital organizations and their portfolios. Over 35% of CVCA’s board is now comprised of women.

CVCA's board members bring a combined wealth of leadership experience derived from extensive service guiding and growing organizations domestically and internationally. The board is tasked to deliver on its mandate to broaden industry awareness and advocate on behalf of the industry to ensure sound public policy that encourages a favourable environment for investment.

On behalf of its membership, CVCA thanks its outgoing board members for their outstanding work and contributions to both the organization and advancing the private capital industry in Canada.
