Canadian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association to Convene Global Investors in Toronto for the Canadian Global Growth Forum July 14, 2026 By [email protected] Home About Announcement Home Singapore’s GIC, Abu Dhabi’s ADIA, BlackRock and Advent International are already invested in Canadian companies. On September 14, Canada’s private capital industry brings its strongest companies and funds to the world’s largest investors, and opens the market to them through a single access point. TORONTO, July 14, 2026 — The Canadian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (CVCA), the national body for Canada’s private capital industry, will convene the Canadian Global Growth Forum in Toronto on Monday, September 14. The invitation-only forum opens direct access to Canada’s private equity and venture capital market for a select group of the world’s largest institutional investors. Canada is one of only two AAA-rated economies in the G7, with the rating agencies citing its predictable policymaking and stable institutions. Canadian private capital deployed more than C$65 billion in 2025, most in private equity. Ninety-three percent of those private equity deals closed below C$100 million, the operating mid-market where value gets built. Canada’s largest venture exits of the past decade have returned strong multiples on invested capital, with the median among the country’s top fifty returning 7.7 times the equity raised, and exit value per dollar invested rising across the period, according to RBCx. Some of the world’s largest investors are already in Canada, alongside domestic institutions like Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, which manages more than C$730 billion and has returned 8.4 percent a year over the past decade. Advent International took Nuvei, a Montreal payments company, private in a US$6.3 billion transaction, and General Atlantic holds a majority of Plusgrade, another Montreal company, with the Quebec pension, CDPQ, invested alongside. In venture, GIC of Singapore co-led the C$10 billion round in Wealthsimple, and a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, with funds managed by BlackRock, backed the largest venture financing in Canadian history. On September 14, the industry puts its strongest companies and funds in front of the world’s largest investors in one place. The Canadian Global Growth Forum is built for the managing directors and heads of funds and direct investment who deploy capital. It opens the market through one relationship, across mid-market private equity, growth-stage venture, funds-of-funds and government programs, and Canadian pension investors. Attendance is by invitation and deliberately limited. The forum runs the same week Toronto hosts the Government of Canada’s first Canada Investment Summit, a federal gathering of roughly 100 of the world’s largest investors focused on nation-building and infrastructure. It is timed so that the organizations sending their leadership to the summit can put their investment teams in front of the private market the same week. “Global capital is looking harder than it has in years for markets it can trust, and Canada is one of the few that fits,” said Benjamin Bergen, Chief Executive Officer of CVCA. “On September 14 we are putting the best of Canadian private capital in front of the world’s largest investors, the companies and funds delivering these returns, most of them still private and never before opened to international investors as one market.” International investors seeking to participate are invited to submit a request for invitation here.
