Embassy of the United Arab Emirates to Canada to host a UAE delegation in Toronto on September 14, deepening investment ties between the two countries

TORONTO, September 11, 2026—The Canadian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (CVCA) today announced that a delegation of UAE officials, participating in the Global Investment Summit in Toronto, will take part in the inaugural Canadian Global Growth Forum on Monday, September 14.

The delegation will include senior representatives of some of the UAE’s most significant investment institutions and commercial groups across sovereign investment, energy, ports and logistics, technology and climate infrastructure. The delegation will host meetings throughout the day from a dedicated executive suite at the Forum, meeting Canadian fund managers, growth companies, and provincial and federal leaders.

The Canadian Global Growth Forum brings together roughly 250 senior investors and business leaders, approximately half from outside Canada, alongside Canada’s largest pension funds, private capital firms and the companies they back. It is designed as a working room rather than a stage: curated bilateral meetings, direct introductions between international allocators and Canadian managers, and provincial roundtables built around each province’s investment priorities.

“Trust is the foundation, but trusted relationships are what build economies,” said Benjamin Bergen, Chief Executive Officer of the CVCA. “Relationships create trust. Trust enables capital. Capital creates deeper commercial relationships, and those relationships open markets for Canadian companies. The participation of this delegation is exactly that chain in motion. We are grateful for the UAE Embassy’s partnership, and we intend for September 14 to be the beginning of the relationship rather than the whole of it.”

BUILDING A LASTING UAE–CANADA INVESTMENT RELATIONSHIP
The two countries share a common interest in the sectors that will define the next decade of global growth: energy and critical minerals, artificial intelligence and advanced computing, ports and supply chain infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, and life sciences. Canada is home to world-class companies and fund managers in each. The UAE is home to institutions with the scale, patience and global networks to help those companies reach markets far beyond North America.

For Canadian companies, international investors are more than a source of financing. They are distribution networks, customers, partners and routes into new markets. Building those relationships deliberately, and sustaining them beyond a single day, is the purpose of the Forum and of the CVCA’s wider international programme.
