2014 Aboriginal Private Equity Summit

Thursday, March 27, 2014
Toronto, Ontario

The CVCA - Canada’s Venture Capital & Private Equity Association and the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business are pleased to present the 2014 Aboriginal Private Equity Summit, a one day event which brings together fund managers, Aboriginal businesses and Aboriginal limited partners. This third annual event provides First Nation, Inuit and Métis business leaders with a more in depth understanding of the private equity market and the opportunities for financing and investment. It gives private equity managers and advisors knowledge of financing, governance, investment and fundraising opportunities through partnerships that exist in Aboriginal communities.

Aboriginal communities are becoming an economic force in Canada. They have amassed close to $6 billion in capital from the settlement of claims and successful business ventures. Aboriginal communities and development corporations are active in a broad range of industrial and commercial sectors and are beginning to take on the role of limited partners in providing capital to private equity funds.
