Venture Capital Senior Associate

Praxis Neuro Next

Praxis Neuro Next is a for-profit fund spun out of The Praxis Spinal Cord Institute (formerly Rick Hansen Institute), a Canadian-based not-for-profit organization that leads global collaboration in spinal cord injury research, innovation, and care. Praxis Neuro Next invests in ground-breaking seed-stage start-ups that will transform lives for those living with neurological disabilities like spinal cord injury (SCI), stroke, cerebral palsy (CP), multiple sclerosis (MS) and traumatic brain injury (TBI). The fund builds on Praxis Spinal Cord Institute’s leading track record in accelerating over 40 start-ups focused on neurological disabilities. These start-ups have raised over $250M in follow on capital and importantly brought 14 innovations into use for people living with these conditions, already making a tangible impact on people’s lives.

This role presents the opportunity to join the core founding team on a novel impact investing vehicle in Canada, with the potential to impact some of the most critical health challenges facing our communities today with cutting edge technology investments. Neurological conditions impact up to 1 in 4 Canadians presenting a significant opportunity to contribute to the future.

Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO), the Senior Associate plays an integral role in supporting fund administration, fundraising, screening and due diligence of deals.
