Who We Are Looking For

An accomplished leader with extensive experience in finance and corporate governance, the successful candidate will bring a strategic vision to the Verdex Capital Board. With a CPA designation and robust governance and financial management experience, the candidate is dedicated to Verdex Capital’s mission of advancing Canadian agriculture through disciplined investments and strategic growth.

Qualifications

Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA): Backed by a CPA designation, the candidate demonstrates a strong foundation and experience in financial management, accounting, risk oversight and regulatory compliance.
Corporate Governance Expertise: With comprehensive experience in corporate governance and strategic decision making, the candidate has served on boards and audit committees for a minimum of 5 years, ensuring adherence to fiduciary duties and enhancing board oversight. An ICD.D designation or equivalent will be considered an asset.
Strategic Agility: Exhibits strategic agility and vision, contributing to the long-term success and sustainability of Verdex Capital and its investments.
Agriculture Industry Experience: Experience in the ag-tech and/or agri-food sector will be considered an asset.
Investment & Financing Experience: Experience in venture capital investing and/or financing will be considered an asset.

Board and Committee Involvement

The successful candidate will participate actively in quarterly board meetings, dedicating time for advance preparation and thorough review of all materials, and will engage in additional time commitments for board committees, contributing to specialized areas of governance (Audit Committee) and oversight.

This is a paid position.
