Who We Are Looking For

An accomplished leader with extensive experience in venture capital and governance, the successful candidate will bring a strategic vision to the Verdex Capital Board. With a deep understanding of venture capital and robust governance and financial management experience, the candidate is dedicated to advancing Canadian agriculture through disciplined investments and strategic growth.

Qualifications

Venture Capital Knowledge: Demonstrates a deep understanding of early-stage venture capital, with insight into fund raising and fund management, and a robust network within the industry.
Investment Experience: Experience specific to venture capital investing, ideally as a member of a General Partnership in Seed to Series B stage opportunities.
Governance Expertise: With comprehensive experience in corporate governance, the candidate has served on boards, ensuring adherence to fiduciary duties and enhancing board oversight. An ICD.D designation or equivalent will be considered an asset.
Financial Management: Experience in financial management, strategic decision making and fiscal oversight.
Ag Industry Experience: Experience in the agri-food and/or ag-tech sector will be considered an asset.

Board and Committee Involvement

The successful candidate will participate actively in quarterly board meetings, dedicating time for advance preparation and thorough review of all materials, and will engage in additional time commitments for board committees, contributing to specialized areas of governance (Board Committee) and oversight.

This is a paid position.
