Role Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Lead to join our team. This role involves working closely with internal and external stakeholders to manage the financial operations of our funds and management companies. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to a range of financial functions, from valuations to compliance, while also participating in deal diligence and portfolio company support. Key Responsibilities • Fund Administration: Collaborate with fund administrators to ensure timely and accurate reporting. • Business Valuations: Assist in evaluating portfolio companies and performing regular valuations in compliance with industry standards. • Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit corporate tax filings, and coordinate with tax advisors to meet compliance requirements for fund-related filings. • Cash Forecasting: Develop and maintain accurate cash flow forecasts for management companies and funds. • Bookkeeping: Manage day-to-day bookkeeping for management companies, ensuring accurate financial records. • Audit Support: Provide support during annual fund audits, including preparing documentation and liaising with our auditor and fund administrator. • Deal Diligence & Portfolio Support: Opportunity to participate in due diligence for new investments and assist existing portfolio companies on an ad hoc basis. Qualifications • Education & Designation: o Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. o CPA, CA designation. • Experience: 4+ years of experience in public accounting. Experience in venture capital, private equity, or fund management is a plus. • Technical Skills: o Experience in financial reporting, tax preparation/filings (T2, HST) and audit processes. o Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel. o Familiarity with financial modeling, cash forecasting, and business valuation methodologies. • Soft Skills: o Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. o Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. o Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
